There is nothing in the world like a good long nap to rejuvenate a girl's spirits. Why, I feel as fresh as the first day of Spring! And so, just for you, I will now perform my happy dance, á la Isadora Duncan.
Your lost and found edges against the marbly textures are an engaging contrast, and I like the random ghost images that push the ebb and flow of her dance... (I hope she's careful with that scarf, ~~they're known to be dangerous)
Nice how the butterflies escape to join in the dance as well, Peet may only put up with them for a short time, though; where is he anyway?
Wow, so beautiful and light and airy. I just adore the ruffly tiered dress with the soft yellow flowers and the yellow butterflies flying from the scarf. And what a happy creature she is! And that form with the pointed toes! Too cute for words. Although I guess I found a few. ;)
Thank you, Cindy. Buttercup says she has the perfect feet for dancing shoes … so long as they're extra narrow. Once she puts them on, her mood (and her body) immediately elevates.
Beautiful!! Love the background and the flowing movement of Buttercup, her dress, & her scarf! The colors alone give the piece a cool, refreshing feel! [ I don't think Peet is really all that into dance or dresses.. :) ]
Here, here to the celebration of naps! We need more of them. Delightful and refreshing illustration. Light, bouncy and nice use of the limited color palette.
Isadora would have been impressed!

DeleteThank you, Richard!
ReplyDeletePeet is still napping contentedly, knowing full well the butterflies fevered frenzy will end in 10 minutes or so. Oh look … there he is now …
I love the textures of the background and on the fabric of her dress. The expressive joy on her face says it all. Bravo! Well done.
