    1. Ted, will you please point Buttercup in the right direction?
      (Mice have such poor vision.)

  2. Well, let's all hope next week's word isn't 'plummet' !
Best thing here is Buttercup's 3 expressions, while they're variations of the same angst, they vary enough to keep me involved with her escalating concern. I like the one in the back where's she's vacillating from fed-up to hope and back again.
Almost imperceptible, those fading mountains work well to hold the composition lightly in the back. Nicely handled there.

so, is Peet just catching a snooze?
Will we have to wait for next week's word?
Perhaps the word will be catnap... or bunnap?

~~ gosh... I hope those aren't just pantyhose up in that tree.

  3. Yes well I scrolled down far too quickly in order lament the seriously sad face on that mouse. But then I saw Ted's note, and I went back and looked, and yes, that is almost certainly Peet. So is he napping, knocked unconscious, or simply teasing his friend? Ah, boys. The little series of her searching is adorable but unhappy! But I know it will end well soon, so I can take it.

  4. I like that you've combined the topics. That being said, it's a good thing Ted has an eagle-eye. Cute illo, Mardi! Thanks for the smile :)

  7. Poor Buttercup, if only she would look up. I like the time sequence invoked in the piece.

Really pulls the viewer in and tells a story. Love your watercolor skills. The grass and shadows are fabulous!
