IF ... Duet

Misha's call came early Friday morning. He needed us on stage THAT NIGHT! The Minuet in Glee was a logical choice. It was a diminutive number from our world tour, filled with lots of toe pointing and forward balancing. And the audiences had loved it. Not that this mattered … our real hope was that Baryshnikov would overlook our fluffy form. But of course, he did not.

  1. Well,
I assumed the mouse could dance well, but look at that rare bit... I mean rabbit! The two move together in a dovetail of diagonals that sew the composition nicely together.
I like the contrasts as well: the specifics on the fur vs. the translucency of the gown; the intensity of the violets vs. the politeness of the pinks; the solidity of the feet vs the flow of the ears ~~and more.
This dances visually as well as it does classically; but then, that was the whole pointe, I'm sure.

  12. Another gorgeous piece. Such movement...I can just feel them stretch and pose. It's amazing to me that you can get such lifelike poses from imagined animals!
